Democritus University of Thrace (D.U.Th.) was founded in 1973 and started to run in the academic year 1974-1975. It was named \u2018Democritus\u2019 in honor of the ancient Greek philosopher Democritus, whose origin was from the town of Abdera in the Prefecture of Xanthi, Greece. The administrative seat of the University resides in the city of Komotini, Greece and its running multiple campuses, in the cities of Xanthi, Komotini, Alexandroupolis, Orestiada, Drama, Kavala. He received his PhD in Finance from Glasgow Caledonian University, UK and he holds a Master degree in Finance, University of Greenwich, UK and BSc in Accounting, Serres Institute of Technology, Greece.<\/p>\n His teaching experience includes Accounting and Finance courses in postgraduate and graduate level in International Hellenic University, Open University of Cyprus, Hellenic Open University and Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Institute of Technology. He also worked in the Independent Authority for Public Revenue in Greece. He has published a number of well received papers in academic journals and he is active on the conference scene.
